The Baltimore Ravens kicked off the new season with an emphatic 20-0 road win over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, though it wasn’t that good of a start for running back Danny Woodhead.

Woodhead exited the game right in the opening series with a hamstring injury, as reported earlier by Baltimore’s Twitter account.

It was an unfortunate turn of events for Woodhead, who impressed from the get-go of the contest, rushing for four yards on one carry on the first drive before leaving the field.

As 0f today, the team is still unsure of his status moving forward.

Woodhead’s availability for next week’s game against the Cleveland Browns is yet to be determined, but at 32-years old, developments like this don’t bode well for the veteran. Just last year, Woodhead missed 14 games as part of the San Diego Chargers due to an ACL tear.

The Ravens signed Woodhead to a three-year contract over the offseason, hoping that Woodhead would give the team’s running game a shot in the arm following a season in which Baltimore finished fifth worst in the NFL with just 91.4 rushing yards per game.

So long as Woodhead is out of the picture, Terrance West and Javorius Allen should expect a heavier workload.
