With Joe Flacco appearing to be on his way out in Baltimore, a list of suitors is lining up to try and land the Super Bowl XLVII MVP.

One of those suitors could potentially be the Washington Redskins, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.

The Redskins are currently in the middle of a 7-7 campaign in which they lost starting signal-caller Alex Smith to a devastating broken leg that could ultimately end his career.

As a result, Washington will be looking for a signal-caller this offseason, and Flacco could be at the top of its list.

The quarterback position has been a revolving door for the Redskins over the past couple of decades, with names ranging from Trent Green to Brad Johnson to even Donovan McNabb being under center at some point since 1998.

Not surprisingly, Washington has had a complete lack of success overall throughout that span, making the playoffs just five times and winning only two postseason games.

Now, quarterback is not the Redskins' only issue, but it is a pretty glaring one, so giving the 33-year-old Flacco a shot is not a bad idea.

Flacco is not a bum. He was merely replaced by rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson as a result of a hip injury he suffered midway through the season.

In nine games this year, he has thrown for 2,465 yards, 12 touchdowns, and six interceptions while completing 61.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 84.2.

The 11-year pro is known for his playoff heroics, including a remarkable 11-touchdown, no-interception performance during the 2012-13 postseason that resulted in a Ravens Super Bowl.
