The Cincinnati Bengals are off to a rocky start to the season after dropping their first two games of the season in disappointing fashion.

Much of that has been associated with their porous play on the offensive end of the field centered on the play of quarterback Andy Dalton.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, this has even led to a few players on the team to push for the Bengals to add and turn to free agent veteran quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

This means that A.J. McCarron would take over, if Dalton is indeed benched. But there’s a feeling among some of the players that the Bengals should go off the board and consider bringing in Colin Kaepernick.

Yes, Colin Kaepernick. Though there’s no indication that the team would consider making such a move, zero touchdowns and nine points in two full games can cause a team to start turning over stones in search of answer.

Dalton has struggled tremendously through the first two games of the season failing to record a single touchdown pass with four interceptions while passing for 394 yards with a 54.2 percent completion rate with a meager 5.97 yards per completion. This has significantly contributed to the Bengals only scoring nine points without a single touchdown over that span.

Cincinnati has already made a move to fire offensive coordinator Ken Zampese the morning after the 13-9 loss on Thursday night against the Houston Texans. Even if the team doesn't pursue Kaepernick, a quarterback change could be on the horizon as A.J. McCarron could be thrust into the starting lineup.

Dalton has been the Bengals starter since being selected 35th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft missing only three games over his six seasons. Meanwhile, there has continued to remain little interest across the league in any team potentially adding Kaepernick to the mix, but that could change as the season rolls on, and quarterback situations get sorted out.
