The Buffalo Bills struggled mightily in 2018, but do have some reasons to be optimistic.

Josh Allen had an up and down rookie season, but showed flashes of promise. As they head into the third year of the Sean McDermott-era, the team has a bunch of needs they have to fill.

Here are the three most burning questions for their offseason.

3. How will they address the offensive line?

It was hard to evaluate Allen's performance as a rookie, because he spent most of the season running for his life.

The offensive line was one of the worst in the league, and needs a major overhaul. They should definitely address it through the draft, and should also pursue some free agents.

Tackle Dion Dawkins is a nice building block on the line, but the rest of the group is inept for the most part.

They traded away tackle Cordy Glenn to the Bengals last year, and should now explore trade opportunities to add a lineman back.

2. How will they replace Kyle Williams?

One of the best players in recent franchise history, Williams announced his retirement toward the end of last season.

Williams was getting up there in age, but was still a massive part of the run defense. His retirement opens up a big hole on the Bills' defensive line, and they'll need to add defensive tackle help to replace him.

If they don't go offensive line with their first couple of picks, they should definitely add a run-stuffer.

1. Will they improve their skill group for Allen?

Their group of skill position players was arguably worse than their offensive line last year. If they want Allen to develop as a passer, they need to add better weapons around him.

The castoffs they had at receiver this past season aren't going to cut it, and they need to upgrade at tight end as well.

Cutting Charles Clay recently was a step in the right direction, and a sign that they were serious about upgrading the position. Zay Jones led the team in receiving with just 652 yards, and that's not conducive to long-term success.

The Bills need to be aggressive in adding additional weapons this offseason.
