The Buffalo Bills have hired Ken Dorsey as their new quarterbacks coach, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Dorsey will replace David Culley, who bolted for John Harbaugh's coaching staff with the Baltimore Ravens.

The 37-year-old spent this past season as the assistant director of athletics for Florida International University, but prior to his short stint with the school, Dorsey had served as Cam Newton's quarterbacks coach with the Carolina Panthers for five seasons from 2013 through 2017.

Dorsey got off to a great start with the Panthers, helping guide Newton to an MVP season during the 2015-16 campaign that also ended in a trip to the Super Bowl.

However, Dorsey was fired from his post after the 2017 season, marking the end of what was a pretty successful run. Prior to taking the quarterbacks job in Carolina in 2013, Dorsey also served as a pro scout for the Panthers from 2011 through 2012.

Dorsey also had a brief five-year playing career in the NFL, spending the first two seasons of his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers and then heading to the Cleveland Browns for three years.

Over the course of his five-year NFL career, Dorsey played in 17 games and made 13 starts, throwing for 2,082 yards, eight touchdowns and 18 interceptions while completing 52.5 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 55.2.

He played his collegiate football at the University of Miami, leading the Hurricanes to the national title during the 2001-02 campaign.

The 49ers then drafted Dorsey in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
