The 2018 NFL season was one to forget for Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy. However, he is still optimistic about a resurgence next year.

McCoy's season was plagued with looming accusations about an incident regarding his ex-girlfriend. Aside from his off-field issues, the Bills also had to deal with their fair share of trouble on offense. Buffalo rotated through four starting quarterbacks throughout the course of the season. Their struggles under center were magnified by the loss of three starting offensive lineman due to injury.
As a result, McCoy endured the worst year of his career. The veteran rushed for 514 yards and three touchdowns on 161 carries to go with 34 receptions for 238 yards. At this point, the only place left to go is up.
McCoy's tumultuous 2018 campaign came to an erratic end when he was benched in Week 16. Fortunately, there does not seem to be any hard feelings between him and head coach Sean McDermott. It will be interesting to see if McCoy does indeed reclaim a workhorse role come next season or if McDermott decides to rely more on quarterback Josh Allen's arm.
