The Buffalo Bills are trekking through a disappointing campaign that has pushed them to hold one of the worst marks in the league heading into Week 9 action after winning just two of their first eight games.

This has also put into question Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy's long-term future with the franchise that saw his name mentioned in trade rumors. Despite all of that, Bills general manager Brandon Beane has stated that the plans are for McCoy to be a part of the puzzle for the 2019 season, according to Jay Skurski of Buffalo News.

Definitely. That's the whole key. LeSean is still a very good player in this league. Our offense is not where we want it, but LeSean is still playing well. He's a talented player. We like what he brings, to the point we'll have him back in 2019. He'll definitely be a part of that.

It hasn't been the type of season that McCoy or the Bills had hoped that has seen plenty of offensive struggles along the way currently ranking last in the league with 10.6 points per game along with being last in passing and 23rd in rushing. The 30-year-old has had his fair share of issues in that department as he has tallied only 275 rushing yards along with 19 catches for 167 receiving yards while he has yet to record a single touchdown.

McCoy is currently on pace for a career-low 514 rushing yards this season, which would be far below the production that has become expected of him as he has tallied over 1,000 rushing yards six times in his first nine seasons. It hasn't been anywhere near what the team has hoped, there is still a strong trust and belief that McCoy has plenty of highly productive campaigns ahead of him.

He is in the fourth year of his five-year, $40 million deal that runs through the 2019 campaign that will pay him roughly $9 million in base salary and signing bonus. What should be noted is that it would be a $2.6 million dead cap hit if the team were to decide to part with him.
