Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is getting older and his play has diminished the last couple of years, but he is using that as motivation as he heads into the 2019 season.

Last season, McCoy averaged only 3.2 yards per carry which was the lowest of his career and that really started to open up the questions about how many years McCoy has left in the league.

McCoy said he has been the underdog his entire career, and he thinks this is just another thing he can use as motivation going forward.

“I use age and that type of thing to motivate me,” McCoy said via pennlive.com. “My whole life I’ve kind of been the underdog. Is he big enough? Is he tough enough? Can he play in the pros? I feel like guys like myself come around every once in a while and I want to stick to that. I’m up for it.”

McCoy also likes the guys that have been added around him, especially on the offensive line and he thinks that is going to help the production this year.

“It’s hard to replace a guy like me,” McCoy said. “I’m a good player and I feel like now, this year, they put a lot of guys around me. The front office got me some big hogs up front. And we’ll see what happens this year. I feel good and hopefully this year will speak for itself.”

McCoy is entering the final year of his contract so not only is he playing for the team this year, but he is playing for his future in on the Bills and the league.
