In the weeks that have followed the reported attack on Buffalo Bills star running back LeSean McCoy's ex-girlfriend, there has been a strong level of scrutiny on him. This has led to the NFL to conduct an investigation of their own into the matter to get to the bottom of the situation.

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN, McCoy has voiced much confidence that he will be able to play this upcoming season despite the league looking into the matter.

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy said Thursday he feels “very confident” about being able to play this season despite an ongoing police investigation into a home invasion at an Atlanta-area house he owns.

“I'm here right now, so I feel very confident,” McCoy said at a news conference, which marked the first time he has addressed reporters since the July 10 attack at his house in which his ex-girlfriend was beaten and robbed of jewelry.

There has yet to be any clarity to the situation to which there are some serious allegations directed toward McCoy that pin him as one who hired people to beat up his ex-girlfriend and rob her. Along with that, he has been accused of child abuse with his own son and animal abuse of his dog.

It is a layered matter that the NFL will likely take a deep approach to find out all the details prior to making a decision on whether McCoy should receive any punishment. His decision to avoid speaking on the matter has likely come from his legal team for him to avoid there being any more chatter arising toward it while making it a larger distraction for the Bills to deal with away from the team.

This is something that McCoy can only wait to see what the NFL assesses in their thorough investigation of this serious matter that could change the course the Pro Bowlers career.
