Throughout the week, the Buffalo Bills have kept a close eye on Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy as he works through the concussion protocol.
McCoy has continued to make progress in his recovery with his participation in practice on a limited basis over the last couple of days. In response to that, the Bills have released the injury report on Friday afternoon that shows that the 30-year-old is still in the protocol process.

Although he is still in the midst of the process, the fact that he has bee practicing is a positive sign that he could be available to take the field for Monday's game against the New England Patriots. What should also be noted is that the team still has a practice on Saturday that should give them further clarity on his health and the possibility of clearing the protocol.
The Bills have continued to voice much optimism about the situation as he hasn't had any setbacks and his participation in practice is a clear sign that he's nearing his return. He had suffered the injury on his second rushing attempt of the game as he was tackled awkwardly that saw him land on the crown of his helmet out of bounds. He was immediately taken out of the game and placed in the concussion protocol after that.
It has been a bit of rough start to the season for McCoy tallying just 244 rushing yards and zero touchdowns along with 13 receptions for 85 receiving yards. He has picked it up over the last couple of games prior to Week 7 action against the Colts as he had posted back-to-back performances with more than 75 rushing yards including his first 100 total scrimmage yard outing. If he's able to take the field on Monday night, he should be in store for a significant workload.
