Just when you thought you've seen everything you could possibly see in a football game, something weird like this happens to the Buffalo Bills:

During their game against the Detroit Lions, the helmet of defensive end Mike Love somehow got stuck to the jersey of linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.

To be perfectly honest, that may have been the most interesting thing to happen in a Bills game this season.

Buffalo came into Sunday's action with a record of 4-9, essentially playing for nothing but draft position at this point.

It has undoubtedly been a crushing season for the Bills, who made the playoffs for the first time since the 1999-00 campaign last year to send the city of Buffalo into a frenzy.

The Bills would go on to lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round, but just making the postseason was a major accomplishment for a Buffalo franchise that had become so used to failure over the better part of two decades.

Now, the team is basically back in rebuilding mode, as it is trying to groom first-round pick Josh Allen as its quarterback of the future.

The Bills' offense has been so anemic this season that, going into Sunday, no one on their team had rushed for 500 yards, and none of their receivers had eclipsed 500 yards through the air.

After finishing their bout with the Lions on Sunday, Buffalo will head on the road to take on the New England Patriots next weekend before concluding their season by hosting the Miami Dolphins on Dec. 30.
