The Buffalo Bills enter the playoffs as the last AFC Wild Card, but they still have a lot of confidence this could be a special postseason.
There are some questions surrounding this team that need to be answered if they team want to make it out of the first round and make a deep run in the playoffs. Let's break down three burning questions that need to be answered.
3. Is the kicking game going to be an issue?
Stephen Hauschka is the Bills' kicker, but earlier in December, the Bills made a waiver claim on rookie kicker Chase McLaughlin. Hauschka seemed to take that to heart and has been kicking a lot better since then.
“I’m just focusing on my job and working on getting into a rhythm with Heath (Farwell) and Reid (Ferguson) and just blocking it out,” Stephen Hauschka said on December 6th via Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic.
Earlier in the season, Hauschka did have some major struggles. Is that going to creep back up again?
2. Can the defense continue to carry the team?
Article Continues BelowThe Bills' defense is the reason the team is where they are at now. Heading into the playoffs, the Bills are giving up only 16.2 points per game, which is second in the league.
The AFC has a lot of good offenses starting with Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans. The Bills' defense is going to need to continue to show up and keep these games low scoring. Are they going to be able to get the job done and lead the Bills to victories?
1. Which Josh Allen is going to show up
This team has a lot of special players, but the playoffs are going to come down to how well quarterback Josh Allen plays. Allen has no doubt gotten better during his second year in the league, but at times this season, he has struggled during the biggest games.
One of the biggest games of the season was against the Baltimore Ravens, and Allen didn't step up to the plate. He only threw for 149 yards and a touchdown.
The defense is probably going to step up to the plate, but Allen is going to need to make big throws at times to come away with a victory. Will Allen step up to the plate? He is going to need to if the Bills want to win a couple of games in the next few weeks.
