The Carolina Panthers already have Christian McCaffrey, but they can certainly use another running back to take some pressure off of him heading into the 2019 campaign.
That's why NFL analyst Charlie Casserly feels that the Panthers should pursue University of Alabama halfback Josh Jacobs in the NFL Draft later this month.
Casserly added that finding another running back is not a “high priority” for Carolina entering the draft but that it would like to add other talented players in its backfield.
Remember: Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said as much as the NFL Scouting Combine, saying that Carolina was looking for a guy “with a similar type of skill set” to McCaffrey going into the draft.

The 21-year-old never put up big numbers with the Crimson Tide, but he was a steady force in their offense, and in his freshman year, he got off to a solid start by finishing with 567 yards while reaching the end zone four times on the ground, recording 6.7 yards per attempt.
He then took a bit of a step back during his sophomore year, totaling 284 yards and a touchdown while also nabbing a couple of receiving scores before having a breakout season of sorts this past year.
The Panthers won just seven games and missed the playoffs in 2018 in spite of getting off to a 6-2 start.
