The Carolina Panthers have seemingly continued to take steps forward after grabbing their third straight win that has pushed them to one of the best marks in the league holding a 6-2 record.

This strong start out of the gate to the season has impressed star quarterback Cam Newton about how things have come together this year, according to David Newton of ESPN.

Carolina has quickly become one of the best teams in the NFL with their balance on both sides of the ball through the first nine weeks of the season. Newton has been the driving force for the offense putting together another highly productive campaign where he has passed for 1,893 yards on a career-best 67.3 percent completion rate with 15 passing touchdowns to four interceptions along with 372 rushing yards with four touchdowns.
Newton has been highly effective throwing the ball during the three-game win streak that has seen him with 735 passing yards on 69.3 percent completion rate with six touchdown passes to zero interceptions along with 149 rushing yards with a touchdown. This includes him throwing for more than 200 yards along with a pair of touchdowns in each contest. His play has helped fuel their second-ranked running game. Meanwhile, the Panthers have had steady play defensively currently being eighth overall defensively including sixth against the run.
Carolina will be tested in the second half of the year with some tough matchup ahead that includes facing the New Orleans Saints twice, Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks. This will be a strong test to see what type of team that they possess with their eyes on making a serious run to the playoffs along with contending for the Super Bowl.
