Since suffering an embarrassing loss on Thursday night football, the Carolina Panthers have seen their season quickly go south dropping their last four straight contest that put them nearly out of the postseason.
In response to their latest loss after falling 24-17 to the Tampa Buccaneers, the Panthers have decided to part ways with four assistant coaches on the staff, according to Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network.
The #Panthers have fired multiple assistant coaches, including DL coach Brady Hoke and CBs coach Jeff Imamura, per sources.

This is a move that the Panthers hope can help shake things up, especially defensively as they have had their shortcomings on that end of the field. They have allowed north of 20 points in each contest while struggling to make key plays late in games. It hasn't been entirely to blame as the offense has also struggled along the way with star quarterback Cam Newton having much difficulty throwing the ball with efficiency during the four-game losing streak as he has thrown seven interceptions over that span.
This all came to a head against the Buccaneers as he tossed four interceptions that played a huge part in his team falling 24-17 this past Sunday. It was the defense that helped keep the Panthers in the game despite Newton throwing a season-worst mark in interceptions. Much of the success early in the season had come from him taking care of the ball, but it appears that his shoulder issues are continuing to linger as it was evident how much arm strength he had on his last pass attempt in the game that saw him fall short of reaching the end zone.
Ultimately, the Panthers still have a chance to secure a playoff spot, but it may come down to them sweeping through their final four games of the season. Nonetheless, what this signals is that there may be some major coaching moves next offseason.
