Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is no stranger to broadcast booths and has provided some commentary in the past, and earlier in the year, FOX and ESPN were both interested in his services.

However, with ESPN announcing that it will have Joe Tessitore and Anthony “Booger” McFarland as its team for Monday Night Football, it doesn't look like Olsen will be on the big stage as a color commentator any time soon.

But, it's not like it was disappointing for Olsen, as he did not have any expectations of landing a job with ESPN anyway.

“I really didn’t have any expectation,” Olsen said, according to Joseph Person of The Athletic. “I’ve been pretty locked on preparing to play for a while. The offseason’s gone well. So I really haven’t had any thoughts about any of that.”

With Olsen playing in just 16 games total over the last two years due to foot issues, there has been some talk as to how much longer he will actually play football, but based on what Olsen has said, retirement doesn't seem to be in his near future.

In nine games this past season, the 34-year-old hauled in 27 receptions for 291 yards and four touchdowns.

Before foot problems began to plague him in 2017, Olsen had made three straight Pro Bowls, racking up over 1,000 yards in each season between 2014 and 2016. His best year came in 2015, when he caught 77 passes for 1,104 yards and seven scores.

Olsen, who played his collegiate football at the University of Miami, was originally selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round (31st pick overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.
