New Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper has locked in on Manchester City Football Club Chief Operating Officer Tom Glick to be the Panthers' team president, according to ESPN's Jeff Darlington.

Steven Drummond of Panthers PR released a statement Friday saying the team had no announcement to make on this front and that they are “still working through the process.”

As Darlington notes, Glick has experience in a number of sports, both in the United States and abroad. He has been with Manchester City for six years, and the team has never been worse than fourth in the Premier League during his tenure. They're also the reigning champions of the Premier League.

Prior to joining Manchester City, Glick was the President and CEO of Derby County Football Club, another English soccer team. He also has experience in American sports, serving as Chief Marketing Officer for the (then New Jersey) Nets, VP of Marketing and Business Operations for the NBA, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for the Sacramento Rivercats (minor league baseball), and General Manager of the Lansing Lugnuts (also minor league baseball) at different times throughout the late 90s and 2000s.

While Glick has never worked in the NFL, his wealth of experience will surely come in handy if he indeed gets this job.

Tepper is looking to fill out his front office after buying the Panthers from original owner and founder Jerry Richardson earlier this year. Tepper paid over $2.2 billion for the franchise.
