The Cincinnati Bengals leaned on a group of unheralded players to score a 31-20 upset victory against the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. Due to their offensive linemen being dealt with several injuries, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor slotted multiple reserves in Fred Johnson, Billy Price, and Hakeem Adeniji to form a trio dubbed as the ‘Bomb Squad', as per ESPN‘s Ben Baby.

They were able to provide pass protection to their quarterback in Joe Burrow who was not sacked for the first time this season. He was able to respond with an applaudable performance of 249 passing yards on 26-of-37 passes completed along with two passing touchdowns against the Titans.

Price then spoke on what it meant to be on the field and contribute to the victory:

“To go out there and just execute and make sure that we kept Joe clean, it's just a very special moment for the Bomb Squad, to make sure guys are representing out there,” he said.

The rookie playmaker also shed light on how the contributions of the unit helped him make plays under center:

“We were in a unique circumstance with four new guys in there on the line,” Burrow said. “They played great, but we had to help them. We got the ball out fast, ran the ball efficiently and did what we needed to do.”

Burrow found help on his receiving corps as Tee Higgins produced 78 receiving yards on six receptions while Tyler Boyd added 67 yards on six receptions and a passing touchdown. Seldomly-used running back Giovani Bernard also generated 16 rushing yards on three carries and a scoring drive for the Bengals.

With their offensive linemen likely to be out for the coming games, the trio might be able to see more action on the field once again. The Bomb Squad will aim to contribute to another upset this time against Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10 proceedings.
