In a world full of uncertainty, Joe Burrow decides to stay still. The Cincinnati Bengals’ newest quarterback revealed Friday via Pardon My Take that he has yet to sign his contract due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We're just waiting to see what happens over the next three months because we really don't know,” said Burrow.

According to Field Yates, Burrow’s rookie contract is worth over $36M in guaranteed money. The deal also includes nearly $24M in signing bonus.

Even though young Joe is set to earn a lot for the foreseeable future, Burrow revealed that he is still a kid at heart with a particular liking to a certain pop culture phenomenon.

“My dad likes to make the joke that I’m a 23-year-old millionaire living in my parents’ basement. The room is Star Wars-themed The comforter was Star Wars. I think the curtains are still Star Wars, but the comforter is no longer Star Wars.”

Kidding aside, Burrow stated that his family is taking the threat of Covid-19 very seriously as the pandemic has already affected over a million in the United States alone.

“I've got to ask my parents permission if I can go to the grocery store. It's like I'm in high school again.”

The top overall pick of the 2020 NFL then reminisced on the moment his name was called the Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“It was more along the lines of relief, you know, ‘I'm glad this is over, let's finally start to get back to football.’”

Upon the conclusion of the interview, Burrow reflected the sentiment of the millions of fans who are devoid of gridiron action.

“Instead of talking, we can get back on the field. Hopefully soon.”
