The 2018 NFL Draft is quickly approaching it has put more focus onto what the Cleveland Browns plan to do with the first overall pick later this month. There has been no certainty up to this point on which quarterback that the team has honed in on at the selection.

The front office has kept their options open meeting with each of the top projected players at the position over the last few weeks. With that in mind, Cleveland announced on Wednesday morning that Darnold is going through a pre-draft visit with the team.

Throughout much of the pre-draft process, Darnold has been heavily linked to the Browns as being likely chosen for the top selection. He has shown to have promising talent in the field in his two seasons under center at USC where he demonstrated to have much poise in the pocket, accuracy on his throws, and the ability to make the necessary throws that will be required at the next level.

However, there has been some belief that Wyoming's Josh Allen could wind up being the selection at the pick. Allen has quickly climbed up the draft boards over the last few months behind his strong arm and raw potential to become a viable starting quarterback at the next level.

All of this hasn't necessarily brushed Darnold aside, but it has at least made the decision-making process a much more difficult one with there being a few intriguing options. The former USC product is viewed by many analysts as being the safer selection of the two while Allen has the physical tools but raw ability on the field that make him a more risky selection.

Ultimately, these next couple of weeks could be huge in helping the Browns make the determination on which quarterback they believe will be the face of the franchise for the long haul.
