The Cleveland Browns almost finished the 2016 NFL season with a winless record, securing only one victory out of the 16 regular-season games no thanks to the deluge of injuries dealt to several key players.
There may be more misery to come to the Dawg Pound this year, especially with the recent news that rookie defensive end Myles Garrett, suffered yet another setback.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport (H/T NFL.com's Kevin Patra) reported that Garrett sustained an ankle injury during the Browns' practice session on Wednesday, with the team believing that the injury is more severe than the one that the 21-year-old suffered on his foot back in June.
Given Garrett's recent history of getting hurt, the Browns have due reason to be very concerned about their future defensive cornerstone's status. As a silver lining, though, Garrett's injury is believed to be found on his right ankle and not the left one similar from his previous scare, as Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.
#Browns Jackson said he believes it's the other ankle for Garrett, not the left. "He didn't finish today. We'll see where we are''

The two-time First Team All-American out of Texas A&M was the consensus pick among experts as the first player to be taken off the board in this year's NFL Draft, and the Browns did their part by selecting him with their first-overall pick to spearhead the defensive overhaul in Cleveland.

In his three years at Texas A&M, Garrett proved to be an imposing pass rusher by racking up 141 tackles – 47 for losses – 31 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and one interception.
The Browns, who finished in the bottom three of the previous season in both points and yards allowed per contest, badly need the services of Garrett to invigorate their pass-rushing unit which put up just 26 sacks in 2016 (only the Oakland Raiders had fewer sacks for the season with 25). They may have to wait a bit longer to see exactly what their top prospect has in store for the rest of the league.
Garrett is now scheduled to undergo an MRI for his bummed ankle; no timetable has been set for his return to action.
