In the last several weeks, there has been much dialogue concerning Roger Goodell's long-term future as commissioner of the NFL.
It appears that all of that chatter has been put to bed as Mike Florio of Pro Football is reporting that Goodell has signed his new deal with the league.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL’s Compensation Committee has informed all owners that a new contract for Commissioner Roger Goodell has been executed.
There had been various reports that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was going to step in to slow the process given how Ezekiel Elliott's situation was handled by the league. He had a few other owners that were expected to back him, but that wasn't enough to keep the new contract extension from being signed.
Goodell has been the NFL Commissioner since 2006, and his current contract before the deal was put in place run through March 2019. During his tenure, he has dealt with numerous tough decisions regarding involving many high-profile players that have drawn much scrutiny and criticism over the years.
The new deal now ensures that Goodell will remain in the position for the next several years.
