With Amari Cooper no longer in Dallas, having joined the Cleveland Browns via trade this offseason, CeeDee Lamb is poised to take over as the Cowboys' WR1 in 2022. Ahead of his first season as the team's top offensive weapon, Lamb expressed no doubts over his ability to shine when speaking to reporters on Wednesday. Via Michael Gehlken, Lamb said that he's “been ready” to take over the role vacated by Cooper this offseason, before mentioning that he and his former teammate maintain a “great relationship.”

“Oh, I've been ready. Been ready,” said Lamb. “That's just me and my competitiveness. That's my nature. I'm always ready for my name to be called.”

Lamb has played a key role for the Cowboys throughout his first two NFL seasons, and he's now set to be an even more important part of the offense in 2022. With Cooper out of town, the 23-year-old is set to be the top target for Dak Prescott, working alongside the likes of Michael Gallup and tight end Dalton Schultz.

Just last year, Lamb recorded his first-ever 1,000+ receiving yard season. He racked up 79 catches for 1,102 yards and 6 touchdowns. Playing in a pass-heavy Cowboys offense, those numbers could see significant increases in 2022 now that he'll be the focal point of their aerial attack.

With a Pro Bowl under his belt, Lamb is looking to take even bigger strides next season after the big changes to the roster this offseason. His confidence isn't lacking in the slightest ahead of the campaign, and that should have Cowboys fans fired up as he looks to cement his status as a star in the league.
