The Dallas Cowboys pulled out an impressive 27-20 road win over the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night that has put them back in the right direction toward competing for the playoffs.

It is a step forward the quarterback Dak Prescott is hoping that his team can continue to build on and grow moving forward into the second half of the season, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“We just have to use this as momentum and continue to grow,” Prescott said in his postgame press conference. “This is a winning team and it’s great when you go on the road and win. It’s the first time doing that this year so it’s important to us just to feel that and feel that energy in the locker room and to make sure we don’t forget that. That’s what we’re trying to do every time that we go on the road or every game.”

The Cowboys had a balanced effort offensively that proved to be enough for them to hold the edge over the Eagles by compiling 410 total offensive yards. Prescott put together one of his best outings of the season by completing 26-of-36 passes for 270 yards with a touchdown. It marked just the second time this season that he has reached that mark, which has both occurred in the last three games.

Meanwhile, Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott lead the ground game with 151 rushing yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. Elliott has continued to be the driving force offensively as he ranks second with 831 rushing yards through the first nine games played this season. His performance on the field along with Prescott throwing the ball efficiently against one of the better defenses in the league are both encouraging signs.

The Cowboys will look to carry the momentum from this game with a tough road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11.
