The Dallas Cowboys got quite the bit of heat after announcing their latest partnership with a company called Black Rifle Coffee Co.

The team announced the news on the official Cowboys Twitter page, which drew some pointed responses particularly on the timing of the partnership announcement. The post was made just a day after yet another tragic shooting at Highland Park, Chicago that claimed the lives of more than half a dozen people during a Fourth of July celebration.

It also comes only weeks after the heartbreaking scene at Uvalde not too far from Dallas, which claimed the lives of nearly two dozen innocent children and teachers. The timing of the partnership is what irked various voices on Twitter.

According to the Associated Press, neither Jerry Jones nor the Dallas Cowboys themselves have yet to give comment on the matter despite the backlash on social media.

The Black Rifle Coffee Co. was founded by United States Army veteran Evan Hafer, who maintains that his group is one that proudly represents and supports veterans.

Jerry Jones has been known for his support of the military and was one of the more outspoken voices against the kneeling protests in the NFL made during the singing of the national anthem.
