The Dallas Cowboys are getting in the fun of rehashing new uniforms now that the NFL is allowing teams to use multiple helmets. Like many other teams, they are utilizing the rule change to institute throwback uniform designs.

Dallas announced that it is bringing back its original white helmets for its Thanksgiving Day matchup against the New York Giants. They will wear their original navy blue jerseys and white pants to complete the throwback look.

The Cowboys wore white helmets in the first four seasons of their history. They quickly pivoted to their famous silver helmets but have brought back the original design before. Embracing their team history for their Thanksgiving showdown makes a ton of sense, as the Cowboys have a long tradition of playing on Turkey Day.

Cowboys Chief Brand Officer Charlotte Jones explained the excitement around the throwback uniforms, per the team's website. “We're beyond excited to bring back our throwback helmets this season. The white helmet, along with the throwback uniforms honoring our teams from the 1960s, have long been a fan favorite, and we're thrilled to bring back the tradition of wearing those helmets and uniforms on Thanksgiving Day once again.”

Dallas will look to take down its division rival on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys defeated the Giants both times they played last season but have lost some of their key players while the Giants brought in a new coach and young talent this offseason.

The Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day opponent also released some new throwback uniforms, though they will not be worn against Dallas.
