David Irving's has had an eventful offseason and it has gotten worse. The starting defensive end is not expected to report to the Dallas Cowboys during training camp. Irving was put on the reserve/did not report list on Wednesday by the Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones said he didn't expect him to report at all during training camp.

“David Irving is dealing with off the field issues,” Jones said via NFL.com. “By agreement and by design, he is not here… [Irving is] addressing his issues and they are ongoing … but I don't expect to see him at camp.”

Irving is suspended for the first games of the upcoming season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. This is an excused absence by the Cowboys so he won't be subject to fines by the team.

Irving also dealt with domestic violence accusations this offseason but charges were never filed and the NFL said they wouldn't be suspending him for that instance.

There were rumors swirling that Irving is in treatment and according to Jane Slater of the NFL Network those rumors are somewhat true.

“It was reported this morning that he was in rehab, but when I reached out to people close to him it's actually been a situation where he has been in and out of rehab this summer,” Slater said on Inside Training Camp Live. “It's not just a substance abuse issue he is dealing with, although he has been suspended four games to start the season because of that. His is a little bit more complicated. He is dealing with several issues. He's got a team in place that's trying to get him back to the facility. Get his mind right.”

Irving isn't eligible for the first four games of this season and it will be a story to watch if he reports to the team for week five.
