The Dallas Cowboys are getting some much-needed rest going into their Wild Card matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. However, it appears running back Ezekiel Elliott is already good to go.
Elliott is usually accustomed to getting his rest in the days following a game. According to ESPN's Todd Archer, he is ready to play today:
“Normally after a real game I'm not feeling ready to play until about Friday, Saturday, but I'm ready to go right now,” Elliott said after Tuesday's practice.
It is not unusual for elite backs to be a bit banged up at this point in the season. Especially ones that toted the ball as many times as Elliott did. However, it seems the team's decision to rest “Zeke” in the season finale is already starting to pay huge dividends. Cowboys fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their workhorse is ready for the playoffs.

He registered 1,434 rushing yards and 567 receiving yards on a career-high 381 touches in 15 games. Such a heavy workload would cause tremendous wear and tear for most backs in the NFL, however, it is clear that he is more than capable of handling it.
It is no secret that the Cowboys' recipe for success on offense relies heavily on Elliott. The young star has made it clear that Dallas has higher expectations for themselves in the playoffs this time around. It is safe to assume that the Seahawks defense will see a heavy dosage of a rested Elliott this week.
