Dallas Cowboys fans will have to continue holding their breath with regards to the outcome of Ezekiel Elliott’s appeal of his six-game suspension handed to him by the NFL.

Instead of practicing with the Cowboys, Elliott spent Tuesday testifying in front of league arbitrator Harold Henderson in an attempt to persuade the authority into either shortening his suspension or voiding it all together. This is according to a report by Clarence E. Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Sources confirmed an NFL Network report that Elliott testified to league arbitrator Harold Henderson in his attempt to get the six-game personal conduct suspension for domestic violence against former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson reduced or vacated.

Per a source, the hearing, which began on Tuesday, could last two or three days but at least through Wednesday.

Elliott’s suspension was brought about by his violation of the league’s personal conduct policy in relation to a domestic violence case hurled at the running back by Tiffany Thompson, Elliott’s ex-girlfriend.

The crux of Elliott’s argument lies on the lack of evidence presented by the camp of Thompson. Therefore, the NFL shouldn’t be able to levy any penalty on him.

The new season is less than a couple of weeks away, and the Cowboys are hoping that the final decision will be made soon, so as not to complicate further their preparation for the 2017-18 campaign.
