On Monday, rumors resurfaced that the Dallas Cowboys could be looking into swinging a trade for New York Jets safety Jamal Adams.
Does that mean that the Cowboys will be open to trading the 17th overall pick in a deal for a star?
According to Jane Slater of NFL Network, Dallas owner Jerry Jones called it unlikely. Slater added that “we will see if this remains the case,” but she reiterated that sources have told her Adams is not a priority for the Cowboys right now.
Dallas was initially rumored to be interested in Adams at the trade deadline back in October, but the Jets ultimately held on to the two-time Pro Bowler.
New York general manager Joe Douglas has stated a couple of times that the Jets plan on making Adams a part of their long-term future, but as of this point, contract extension talks have yet to take place.
