The Dallas Cowboys entered Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals as the #2 seed in the NFC. They were two wins and a Green Bay Packers loss away from gaining the only first round bye in the playoffs. Following a tough defeat at home, the Cowboys now find themselves #4 in the standings. A first round bye is gone, and a potential rematch against the Cardinals might be in the cards.

After the game, standout rookie linebacker Micah Parsons shared his feelings on the loss.

Parsons talked about the mistakes Dallas made themselves, saying “I think it's one of them days when we beat ourselves. I know we can play a much cleaner game.”

Parsons' impressions from the game were not unfounded. Dallas committed 10 penalties, for 88 yards. They were only 3 for 11 on 3rd down. Even special teams was littered with mistakes. Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein missed a field goal attempt, and Dallas allowed a number of decent kick returns.

Parsons individually had a good game once again. He finished with five tackles, two tackles for loss, two QB hits and a pass defensed. Dallas' defense played well enough to win. Their offense once again struggled.

The Cowboys ground game never got going against the Cardinals front seven. Quarterback Dak Prescott actually led the team in rushing with 20 yards. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard combined for 25 rush yards on 12 carries.

Midway through the 4th quarter, the Cowboys had the ball trailing 22-14. They had momentum on their side having just scored on their previous possession. Prescott rushed up and middle and had the ball knocked out, recovered by the Cardinals. It was the play of the game and a mistake Dallas was unable to overcome.
