The Dallas Cowboys once again had a disappointing ending to their season in 2021, losing in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs. But one thing that certainly went right last season was the emergence of rookie linebacker Micah Parsons. Parsons exploded onto the scene for the Cowboys, earning talk of Defensive Player of the Year. That left a lot of Cowboys fans running to the stores to buy his jersey, but one such fan was not sure if he should.
A fan posted on Twitter how he has always had back luck when buying Cowboys jerseys. He referenced buying Jason Witten and Dez Bryant jerseys, only to see them leave a year later. He bought an Ezekiel Elliott jersey in 2019 and his production has fallen off a cliff. Then he purchased a Dak Prescott jersey before the 2020 season, weeks prior to Prescott breaking his ankle. So, understandably the Cowboys fan was hesitant to purchase Parsons' jersey.
Don’t buy my jersey lol https://t.co/38lEi1wciG

Parsons retweeted “Don't buy my jersey lol.”
Athletes are generally known for being superstitious, and maybe that's where this comment comes from. Parsons is looking to build on his outstanding rookie season. He finished the year with 84 tackles and 13 sacks. That was only 1.5 sacks short of the NFL record for sacks in a rookie year held by former Tennessee Titans edge rusher Jevon Kearse.
The Cowboys have had a very quiet offseason thus far. They lost wide receiver Amari Cooper, right tackle La'el Collins and edge rusher Randy Gregory. But they are yet to sign any significant players to help propel this team to finally take the next step in the playoffs.
