Micah Parsons quickly emerged as a superstar within the Dallas Cowboys defense. The rookie stepped in and made an immediate impact, showcasing his wide array of skills throughout his debut season in the NFL. Appearing to be arguably the steal of the 2021 NFL Draft, Parsons enjoyed a historic rookie season that saw him get selected to the Pro Bowl. During an interview during days leading up to the Pro Bowl, Parsons was asked about his most memorable moment from his rookie year in Dallas, via Kimberley A. Martin. The rookie gave a response that will have all Cowboys fans fired up, suggesting his core memory from the 2021 campaign will be the loss to the 49ers in the Wild Card Round.

While some rookies would have been satisfied with themselves after the level of production Parsons turned in, No. 11 is just wired differently. Parsons enjoyed one of the best seasons from a defensive rookie in recent memory, having recorded 84 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 30 QB hits, 13.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three pass breakups. Parsons was named to both the Pro Bowl roster and the NFL's First-Team All-Pro squad.
Still, all of his accomplishments and accolades wane in comparison to the Cowboys' infamous playoff loss, and it seems the only thing Parsons is taking away from his rookie year is that he never wants to taste that kind of defeat again. Clearly, the loss is still weighing heavily on Parsons, but we fully expect him to use it as motivation to come back even better in 2022.
