The Dallas Cowboys are slated for a crucial matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17, and it seems that their defense is feeling upbeat ahead of the bout. In particular, rookie sensation Micah Parsons was full of confidence heading into Sunday's matchup, and he had a rather bizarre comparison for himself and fellow defensive star Trevon Diggs, via Ed Werder.
#Cowboys LB Micah Parsons refers to himself as the Lion. He’s assigning animals to his teammates. Told CB Trevon Diggs he’s an eagle. “Eagles only fly with other eagles. No other birds can reach their altitude. Tre’s the eagle. I’m the lion. He owns the air. I own the ground.”

Parsons decided to go dish out some animal analogies when talking to the media on Wednesday, likening himself to a lion, while comparing Diggs to the likes of an eagle. The reason behind these comparisons? According to Parsons, “[Diggs] owns the air. I own the ground.”
The rookie linebacker didn't stop short of comparing his own teammates to animals, however. Parsons even gave Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray the Animal Planet treatment. His animal of choice for Murray was a cheetah, highlighting Murray's blazing speed as one of his most tantalizing attributes.
Adding to the Micah Parsons animal post: he says #Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is a cheetah. Acknowledges cheetahs fastest member of animal kingdom but he would take a pride of Lions over a single Cheetah every day of the week.

Parsons gave credit where it was due, respectfully acknowledging that the cheetah is that fastest member of the animal kingdom. That said, the Cowboys rookie couldn't help but mention that he would much rather assume the role of a lion as opposed to a cheetah.
We'll give Parsons some credit here, as these are fairly sound comparisons between player and animal. Trevon Diggs, the Cowboys' ball-hawking cornerback who leads the NFL with 11 receptions certainly has similarities to an eagle, and Murray's pace can absolutely be linked to that of a cheetah. Parsons declared himself a lion, and while that may seem like an arrogant take, he has the numbers to back it up, having turned in a jaw-dropping rookie season thus far into 2021 for the Cowboys.
