The Dallas Cowboys have been struck with some good news. Wide receiver Michael Gallup will probably play in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers, according to Michael Gehlken. Gallup hasn't played since Dallas' Week 2 game against the Washington Redskins.
Barring a setback, Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is expected to play Sunday vs. Packers. He missed two games.

Gallup's return couldn't come at a better time. The Cowboys are preparing to face the 3-1 Green Bay Packers, which could end up being a huge game in terms of playoff seeding. The Packers have a strong secondary, and Gallup will help take some attention off of Amari Cooper. With Cooper drawing star cornerback Jaire Alexander, Gallup will have plenty of one-on-one opportunities against cornerbacks Kevin King and Tramon Williams.
While there is no telling how Gallup will play, his presence alone will be helpful. Dallas has been starting Devin Smith, a journeyman wide receiver who has 248 career yards receiving. With the former Colorado State Ram back in the lineup, the Cowboys get a reliable pass-catcher who can win against single coverage. He will also allow slot receiver Randall Cobb and tight end Jason Witten to play against one-on-one coverage.
Because of the attention that the passing game will demand, running back Ezekiel Elliott should have a little bit more running room.
Sunday's game should be a high-scoring one, and Gallup will be no small part of it. Quarterback Dak Prescott will be spreading the ball around plenty, which definitely includes Gallup. Expect a shootout on Sunday afternoon, with both teams throwing the ball a ton.
