One of Gallup's brothers tragically committed suicide last weekend, and the Cowboys wide receiver learned of it shortly after the team's win over the Falcons in his hometown of Atlanta. The 22-year-old rookie remained in Georgia to be with his family, but it appears he's going to make his way back and rejoin the Cowboys in Arlington for Thanksgiving. Dallas has thrown its full support behind the grieving youngster.
Michael Gallup made a statement Tuesday:
I want to thank my teammates, the Cowboys family, friends & fans for their love and support. It means so much that y’all are here for me and my family during this time.

The Cowboys selected Gallup in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The Colorado State product has caught 16 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown on the season.
Gallup only caught one pass for five yards in the Cowboys' 22-19 win over the Falcons, but it was a crucial third-down reception on the game-winning drive. Sadly, the joyous moment didn't last as he soon learned of the death of his brother from his sister in the locker room after the game.
It would take a lot of strength for Michael Gallup to give it a go after such a tragedy, and nobody would blame him if he decided to sit this one out. But with Dallas fighting for the NFC East, it seems he wants to try to help his team in a crucial divisional matchup.
The Cowboys are 5-5 on the season, while the Redskins sit atop the division at 6-4. Washington won the first matchup between the two teams.
