The Dallas Cowboys are putting the finishing touches on an impressive 2018 NFL season. It appears running back Ezekiel Elliott has high expectations for the postseason.

The Cowboys have managed to secure the NFC East for the second time in three seasons. According to John Newby of 247Sports, he is much more confident about their chances this time around:

“I'm excited to get back in those playoffs and definitely do better than we did last time,” Elliott said. “This one kind of means more because of where we were at and how far we've come. It definitely shows me the nature of this league, shows me a better perspective of how it is to be in this league. Growing up before I got here, I had probably lost 10 football games my whole life, and you could lose 10 football games in a season at this level. These last two years have shown me how tough it is in this league, how every week you've got to bring your best stuff.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Elliott's comments. The Cowboys enjoyed a bit of a resurgence back in 2016 behind him and quarterback Dak Prescott. Despite being the No. 1 seed, they were quickly bounced out in the divisional round. Both players endured their fair share of struggles in the 2017 campaign. They are now hoping to put it together this time around.

There is no question that the Cowboys' success is predicated on Elliott's performance. He is on the verge of securing his second rushing title in three seasons. Dallas will need to be at their best when they host a Wild Card game.
