Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick's season is over this year, but he still has high hopes he will be able to make a comeback for the 2019 season.
“I'm doing pretty well. Things have started to move along in the right direction,” Frederick told 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday. “I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to play football at this point this year, but I feel very good about where I'm headed moving into next year.”
Frederick is one of the best offensive linemen in the league, but he has missed the entire year dealing with Guillain-Barré syndrome. The syndrome is a disorder in which the immune system starts to attack the nervous system. It can start as tingling in the feet and go through your entire body. The worst cases of the syndrome can end in paralysis.

“I have certainly made progress, but at this point in the season, having not been able to do my football movements. … even if I was 100 percent strength-wise to be able to come back and play. … I'm still six or eight weeks out from that,” Frederick said.
The syndrome is very hard to predict so it's hard to know for sure if he will play in 2019 or ever again for that matter, but it's a good sign that Frederick is at least feeling good about his chances to play for the Cowboys again.
