After eight years in Green Bay and one Pro Bowl, Randall Cobb will play his first game against his former team. Cobb will suit up for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and he will be an essential part of their offense.

The Cowboys scored just 10 points in a losing effort against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4. This was their first loss after starting out 3-0. Cobb was a non-factor on Sunday night, which has been the case for most of the season. Cobb has just 14 catches for 157 yards in four games this season. He does have one touchdown.

Cobb can turn the Cowboys' offense from good to really good. He is a big factor heading into the Green Bay matchup this week.

Dallas, Get Cobb Involved

Cobb is a weapon. He has had success with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, including a season where he had 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. With Dak Prescott and the Cowboys' run game, Cobb can be just as successful. Being the No. 2 receiver could work in his favor.

Amari Cooper is the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in Dallas. He will draw most of the attention from opposing defenses, which leaves Cobb in favorable situations. Cobb can also be used on jet sweeps and screens. What he mainly can do is give the Cowboys another option.

The Cowboys offense runs through Prescott, Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliott. We know that, but so do other teams. The Cowboys do not have dynamic tight ends despite Jason Witten returning. Dallas likes what Blake Jarwin and Gavin Escobar can do, but they are not elite tight ends. Cobb can be that other option that can make opposing defenses think twice about where the ball is going.

Michael Gallup is banged up. He returned to practice this week and is expected to play on Sunday, but it is unknown how he will be used. There will be room for Cobb to operate against a Green Bay defense that struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Let's not forget that Cobb is playing against his former team. Despite his success in Green Bay, players always want to perform against their former teams. The offense for Dallas will need to start showing something different to teams and it can start with getting Cobb more involved.
