The Denver Broncos had a pretty bad offense last year. In fact, they had one of the worst. Their average of 18.1 points per game was ranked 27th in the league, ahead of only the Browns, Giants, Colts, Bears, and Dolphins.

But according to Broncos cornerback Chris Harris, this year’s offense figures to be significantly improved under the guidance of new quarterback Case Keenum. Harris has been impressed with what he’s seen with Keenum and the offense, so much so that he’s offered up a bold prediction about their points tally.

“Our offense is way better than they were last year with Case under center,” Harris said per Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. “He’s throwing great balls, he’s had great accuracy all camp. He’s improved from OTAs. … When I watch film it’s like the one offense is doing something totally different than the two offense. So it’s like they’re at a level 10 and everybody else is at like a way lower level.

“Case and them are clicking right now and I expect them to put up points. I don’t see anybody really shutting them down like that with the receivers that we go. Our O-line is way better. So I see them putting up points. At least 30 a game.”

It’s not completey unheard of to see that type of dramatic one-season turnaround offensively. The Rams went from a mere 14 points per game in 2016 to leading the league in 2017. But as great as they were, they still finished a fraction below 30 points per game, which goes to show just how challenging a feat that is.

While not impossible, it seems highly unlikely that Denver’s offense does reach that elite level, even with Keenum and solid receivers in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. But even if they don’t reach that magical 30 mark that Harris has set, the Broncos will still take any marked improvement on that side of the ball after last year’s disappointment.
