The Denver Broncos are converting cornerback Brendan Langley to wide receiver, according to NFL reporter Ron Clements.

Or, should we say the Broncos are moving Langley back to wide receiver?

Langley actually played wide out in both high school and college, so this would be nothing new for him.

Plus, it's not like Langley has played cornerback all that extensively in the NFL, anyway.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Lamar University, was originally selected by Denver in the third round (101st pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played in 11 games during his rookie campaign, logging just two tackles. Most of his work came on special teams, where he returned six kicks for 183 yards.

Then, this past season, Langley appeared in just five contests and registered three tackles. He was actually released by the Broncos before the season began and was then re-signed to the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in November.

Denver is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which it won just six games, and in 2017, it went 7-9. The Broncos' ineptitude the past two seasons marks the first time since 1972 that the team has posted back-to-back losing years, a truly incredible feat.

As a result of Denver's recent struggles, the club fired head coach Vance Joseph, who had originally taken over as head coach in 2017. The Broncos have since replaced him with Vic Fangio, who had previously served as the Chicago Bears' defensive coordinator.

Denver has now missed the playoffs three years in a row.
