The Denver Broncos could possibly add a new quarterback in their lineup. According to  Ryan Talbot of NewYorkUpstate/BillsUpdate, that signal-caller is none other than the recently released Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman.

A workout will be held by the team next week. They'll be searching for free agents that could play a significant role with the team in the future.

2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch was released by the team last September as a result of his poor development. Third-stringer Chad Kelly was also cut after he was arrested last month.

This left the Broncos with only two quarterbacks in their lineup. Only starter Case Keenum and backup Kevin Hogan are currently available on their 53-man roster. Their third quarterback, Garret Grayson, meanwhile, is on their practice squad.

Peterman was scheduled by the team for a workout. This gives him another chance to show what he is capable of on the field, despite his early struggles while playing for the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills released him last November 12 because recently-signed quarterback Matt Barkley outshined him. In their 41-10 win over the New York Jets, the former USC Trojan passed for 232 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions. Above all, he completed 60% of his passes.

The University of Pittsburgh product was picked by the Bills in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft.  He won the team's backup quarterback job that season due to Cardale Jones' trade to the Los Angeles Chargers.

In eight appearances in his career so far, Peterman has managed to amass lackluster totals of 548 passing yards and three touchdowns against 12 interceptions. Hiis career passer rating of 32.5 is one of the worst ever.
