In the last couple of weeks, there has persistent chatter around former Pro Bowl wide receiver Demaryius Thomas' future with the Denver Broncos this season.

Thomas' name has been prominently mentioned in trade talks that have led to him voicing earlier this week that he sees his time in Denver coming to close in the near future. Despite all of that, Mike Klis of 9news is reporting that the Broncos are not shopping him around while there is a sense he will remain with the team for the rest of the season. Mike Klis of 9News reported the Broncos will not trade Thomas this week and are “not actively shopping him.” Klis adds that Denver will listen to overtures from interested suitors, but it's a “good bet” he finishes the year with the only NFL team he's ever known.

The 30-year-old is currently in the fourth year of his five-year, $70 million deal that will pay him nearly $30 million for the next two seasons. In the last year of his deal for the 2019 campaign, he is set to earn $14 million base salary, but the team could part ways with him by taking on approximately a $3.5 million dead cap hit for next year.

Demaryius Thomas has been a highly reliable receiving option throughout his career with the Broncos as he has spent his first eight-plus years in the league with the franchise that saw him earn five Pro Bowl selections where he toppled 1,000 receiving yards and 90 receptions in each campaign. He has continued to produce with 33 catches for 372 receiving yards and three touchdowns this season that has put him on pace to record 75 receptions and 850 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

With the trade deadline quickly approaching in less than a week, Thomas' fate for this season in Denver will be determined in the next few days.
