The New York Giants were a team in turmoil once the NFL offseason got underway. The storied franchise won only three games during the 2017 campaign, hired a new head coach in Pat Shurmur, and seemingly was prepared to part ways with superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Fast forward to near the end of May; the Giants appear to be back on track. New York drafted a promising young player in running back in Saquon Barkley and have repaired the relationship with Beckham. Although the perennial Pro Bowler has yet to sign the lucrative contract extension that he desires before the 2018 NFL season, all is well in New York with Shurmur shedding some light on his budding relationship with the 25-year-old.

At this point, it seems as though all the tension in New York surrounding Beckham's future with the Giants has subsided. The two-time All-Pro may very well have a bright future ahead under Shurmur in New York as the team attempts to bounce back from a forgettable 2017 season.

The real question from here on out is when the Giants will try to get a contract extension done with Beckham and has the wide receiver's stance on the matter changed. Beckham is expected to sign a historic deal with New York that will likely change the way the elite wideouts in the game are paid from that point onwards.

Despite missing the majority of last season due to the ankle fracture he suffered back in October of last year, Beckham has put up astounding numbers throughout his career thus far with no signs of slowing down when healthy.

In the three seasons prior to the 2017 campaign, Beckham caught at least 91 passes, 1,305 yards, and 10 touchdowns or more in each of those seasons. He has been as consistent as any player at the position in the NFL and as expected to continue that level of productive if able to stay healthy in the years to come.
