New York Giants offensive lineman Justin Pugh, who has suffered yet another setback in his road to recovery, is now just hoping he can avoid back surgery.
Pugh has been dealing with a back issue for the majority of this season. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get through Wednesday’s practice, and went for an MRI to see where things stand with his back.
According to the MRI, Justin Pugh just needs rest for the moment. That being said, the entire ordeal is clearing weighing on his mind.
“Talking with our medical staff, they always are making sure that I’m doing the best thing for myself and talking to the coaches, everyone wants to make sure I’m healthy,” Pugh said. “That’s kind of where we’re going. I don’t want to make it even worse. It’s not at a point now where I’m going to have to get surgery or anything like that, so I don’t want it to get to that point.”
Who can blame him? Having any form of surgery is awful, but having something done to your back sounds like one of the worst possible things to have to go through. That being said, whatever the medical people say is a must for his long-term quality of life, is likely what Pugh should go with.
With the season a wash for the Giants, there's really no need to do anything with the offensive lineman at this point other than allow him to get healthy.
