Eddie Lacy was gashing the New York Giants‘ defense on Sunday night, averaging about eight yards per carry while bullying through defenders. Then, he came off the field gingerly.

Lacy hurt his ankle, forcing him to miss the rest of the game for the Packers. Luckily, head coach Mike McCarthy doesn't believe the injury is serious. From the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport:

Packers coach Mike McCarthy tells reporters on RB Eddie Lacy’s ankle: “I wouldn’t say it’s serious.”

While Lacy's ankle apparently won't be a long-term concern, McCarthy wouldn't say whether he'll play this week against the Dallas Cowboys. From ESPN's Rob Demovsky:

“Eddie’s had some tests done, so we really won’t know until he hits the field tomorrow,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday. “So I would say it’s not serious. But I don’t know what his status is for this week.”

McCarthy went on to discuss the Packers' running back situation, overall:

“I have no concerns about James [Starks],” McCarthy said. “I think if you look at us offensively going into the game, this is the first game where we won the time of possession. Seventy-five-plus plays, I don’t know exactly what the total came out officially, but we were north of 75, which is where we like to be.

“It’s about opportunities. Running the football is about opportunities. Eddie has performed well. This is his best game this year, and James, this is really the first game James has had this many opportunities. So I have no concerns about James.”
