Heading into the second week of NFL preseason action, the Green Bay Packers have to be feeling pretty good about themselves. After beating the Houston Texans last week by a final score of 28-26, the Packers still have quite a bit of work to do. That being said, they have quite a few positives as well.
Matt LaFleur started his career off with a win, which is always a good thing whether it's a meaningless game or not. A new era of football has begun for the proud franchise and getting off to a good start is important.
The media has not allowed the Packers to prepare in silence so far this offseason. From the reports that stirred up drama around Aaron Rodgers to other reports of a rift between Rodgers and LaFleur, the Packers have dealt with off-the-field drama. Thankfully, the team has stayed closed off for the most part and is not allowing anything from the outside to impact them.
Green Bay is set to face off against the Baltimore Ravens this week. The Ravens were able to come through with a dominant 29-0 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
All of that being said, which three players should be watched closely this week by the Packers' fan base?

3. Allen Lazard, Wide Receiver
One of the most intriguing players on the roster right now for the Packers is wide receiver Allen Lazard. He played in the preseason opener, catching one pass for 27 yards and a touchdown. It was a big play, which is something that many in Green Bay believe he can do on a consistent basis.
Lazard stands in at 6-foot-5 and nearly 230 pounds. He is a massive target that could do very well with Aaron Rodgers as he continues to develop. Earning a roster spot on a crowded wide receiver depth chart isn't going to be easy, but this week's game is going to be a key for him.

Next up, the Packers were happy with the development that they saw from DeShone Kizer last week. He ended up completing eight of his 13 pass attempts for 102 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. Kizer also picked up three yards on the ground.
Obviously, the preseason doesn't matter when everything is said and done. Kizer has to show continued improvement and prove that he can be a legitimate backup quarterback for the Packers in case Rodgers misses any time.
Packers rookie linebacker Ty Summers finished with a game-high 10 tackles (9 solo) last night in his pro debut. We’ll have more with the @SAReaganFball and @TCUFootball alum today at 5:30pm on @ksatnews. @InstantReplaySA @summerTYme42 pic.twitter.com/UiQJcCqcZt

1. Ty Summers, Linebacker
Finally, the Packers are extremely excited about rookie linebacker Ty Summer, who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He is an athletic player who flies all over the field. Summers is going to be relied even more on due to the injured suffered by second-year linebacker Oren Burks last week.
Summers came in and played a big game for Green Bay against the Texans. He racked up 10 tackles, with nine of those being solo tackles. LaFleur has been vocal about his excitement about Summers and if the Packers don't bring in any other linebackers, Summers could have a big role in the regular season.
