The Green Bay Packers are considered by many to be a potential Super Bowl contender this coming season as a result of a fine offseason, and BetOnline.ag has them making the playoffs.

Should the Packers qualify for the postseason, it would be their first playoff trip since the 2016-17 campaign. Green Bay has missed the playoffs each of the last two years, marking the first time the Packers have missed the postseason in back-to-back seasons since 2006.

This past year, Green Bay went just 6-9-1 and dealt with a myriad of locker room issues. Long-time head coach Mike McCarthy, who has been heavily criticized this offseason, did not even make it through the year, as he was fired after a 4-7-1 start.

McCarthy had been the Packers' head coach since 2006, leading them to a Super Bowl championship during the 2010-11 campaign. However, it was apparent that he had worn out his welcome, as a declining relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers was seen as a big reason for Green Bay's struggles in recent years.

Of course, another significant factor in why the Packers missed the playoffs two years ago was because Rodgers missed most of the season with a broken collarbone, as Green Bay went just 7-9.

But now, the Packers have a new head coach in Matt LaFleur and a vastly improved defense. As a result, there are some who feel that Green Bay will actually win the NFC North division title, beating out the Chicago Bears who won 12 games and captured the division crown this past season.
