If the Green Bay Packers are to make a return to the playoffs next season, it will be because they survived what is presently being considered as the toughest schedule in the NFL. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Packers opponents next season have the highest aggregate winning percentage, implying that Green Bay’s road back to the postseason is littered with high-quality foes.

Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN:

The Packers’ 2018 opponents had a combined winning percentage of .539 last season. According to ESPN Stats & Information research, that ranks as slightly tougher than those of the Lions and Saints, whose opponent winning percentage last season was .535.

The Packers have home games against the likes of the Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills. They will also host the San Francisco 49ers, who are being viewed as a surprise team in 2018. Away from Lambeau Field, Aaron Rodgers and company have scheduled road dates this year against the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins, New England Patriots, and New York Jets.

For the first time in nine seasons, Green Bay missed the boat to the playoffs in 2017 after finishing just third in the NFC North with a 7-9 record – the Packers’ worst since going 6-10 way back in 2008.

Of course, the Packers had to deal with Rodgers’ absences last season. Rodgers played in only seven games in 2017 because of a shoulder injury, leaving the team’s offense largely at the hands of backup quarterback Brett Hundley. Overall, the Packers went just 3-6 in games started by Hundley.

Rodgers is expected to be 100 percent ready once the 2018 season rolls around, and so long as he is under center for the Packers, his team will always be a threat to win it all.
