Texans Owner Bob McNair also sent his thoughts to Hal and his family.

The McNair family as well as the entire Texans organization will continue to be there for him, love and support him, and pray for his recovery.”
Dr. James Muntz, the Texans team physician, originally provided the diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma. Hal went for additional testing at the MD Anderson Cancer Center for additional testing that confirmed the diagnosis. The team and Hal are still reviewing the options to decide the best plan of attack to beat cancer.
On the field, the Texans are losing a really solid safety that started 16 games last year and depending on how long he is out it's a really big hole in the secondary that they are going to have to fill.
Most importantly right now, this is a battle that Hal will beat and he will be back with the Texans.
